Governor's Conference on Tourism

Last week a few of us from Cedar Shore had the wonderful opportunity to attend the Governor's Conference on Tourism. In Governor Round's speech, he was happy to report that although the economy in general is down, South Dakota Tourism was up last year.
We had speakers on various topics such as customer service, marketing, and "going green"; we took away several ideas which we plan on implementing here at the resort. In fact, we are remodeling our guest rooms, and rather than throwing the used carpet in the land fill, are "recycling" it.
We are also proud to announce that Cedar Shore Resort was a finalist for the George S. Mickelson Great Service Award, which honors a business or organization that has taken hospitality to the next level.
